Back from Budapest

Posted by Scotsman on September 17, 2009 in Gambling Affiliate Shit, Life |

Well the adventure had to come to an end and I am now back in Kingston, after almost a week in Budapest.  I was attending the Budapest Affiliate Conference and it was a blast.  I think my favourite thing is when I came back and I am going through customs, and they ask the reason for my trip – was it personal or business.  It’s quite amusing as I think about the 5 days of non-stop drinking, the karaoke bars, the partying until 6am, hot models, sitting on patios staring at hot chicks all day, lots of half naked girls at the conference, watching Summerslam 92 at a bar at 2am…..and then saying “Business”.

I love this industry so much.  Trips like that remind me just why this job is so awesome.

I’ll probably blog about the trip later this week, but really this picture sums it all up:

New Casino Bonus Site

Posted by Scotsman on September 9, 2009 in Life |

Well I’m off to Budapest later today – it’s 2am actually as I write this post, and my flight is at 2pm, 12 hours from now.  For the first time I was prepared – I usually wait to pack like the morning I leave, but this time I was packed well before that, super prepared and so on……yet I’m still up working hard at 2am.  What could I be possibly doing?

Why building my new casino signup bonus site of course!

This is a site I’ve had “in the making” for 2 months now. A brief summary of the past 2 months:

Week 1: Spent planning out the website, from what keywords to target to what articles the site should have.  Rough draft of design(on paper) based on this, all the features it should have.  Came up with over 500 articles for the site to eventually have.

Week 2: Research week.  Looking at my competition, conducting a survey of casino players, deciding on what casinos to initially promote, doing keyword research erc.

Week 3 & 4: Working with the designer on creating the site, and all the pages, going over the tiniest little details just to make the site perfect.

Week 5 & 6: Writing content for the site.  I didn’t rush the content – I took it slow, and I wanted to write it all myself.

Week 7: Implementing all the content with the site, then working with the designer on all the little changes needed.

Week 8: Planning a link building campaign, going over the site with a fine toothcomb and making any changes required.  All the admin stuff required.

As you can see – a lot of work.  Anyhoo it is FINALLY up, and I have a lot of work to do on it and changes to make – but still very happy with it.  So go check it out, and if you run your own website then please consider throwing a link to this casino bonus site.  Every link helps!

I’m off to bed, then Budapest.  Wheeee.

A light at the end of the tunnel

Posted by Scotsman on September 6, 2009 in Life |

When I think back, the last few years have just been crazy.  I’ve always been so busy, so overwhelmed and had so much stuff to do.  Yet suddenly I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.  I wrote about how I am now an x-5er a few weeks ago.  Well that, and me FINALLY learning how to fucking outsource to people(which I’ve always hated doing) has seen productivity increase like never before.  I’m at the stage where I have basically one to do list, about 25 items on it, and when they are done…well, it’s like I am basically DONE all my work, and ready to start on new projects.

It’s a great feeling, and I am feeling a lot more relaxed these days.  It’s nice that it is coming just in time for football season too, as I can take the weekends off and not worry about work or being behind etc.  It’s been nice lately when I’ve sat down with some popcorn to watch a movie, and not have to worry about work or anything.

It’s good too – I plan on getting EVERYTHING off my plate by the end of September.  Then it’s just a case of maintaining my current sites(easy).  I also have 2 new projects on the horizon – probably 3, which I want to put full focus onto.  So October through January I will be putting full focus on those, maintaining my current sites….and that’s really it.  After the London conference at the end of January I might take up some new projects.

Fuck yes.  You have no idea how happy I am right now about everything.  It feels like I have been working towards this stage of my life for years, and almost gave up hope a few times – but now finally it’s here, just around the corner, so close to completion.

That’s it from me.  I’m going to go listen to Shiny Happy People on repeat for a bit because that’s the kind of mood I am in.
