Kids say the darndest things
Actually just testing out posting from my Blackberry here.
Anyway on our front porch it looks like some birds are starting to build a nest. I pointed this out to the kids, and their responses couldn’t be more different.
Ella: “cute!!!”
Mason: “They are moron”
“They’re not morons. ”
“Well they’re idiots then. ”
A proud moment I shall treasure forever for sure. Can’t ever argue with kid logic.
Better Blackberry = More Blogging!
Been having a lot of problems with my Blackberry Bold 9000 lately. Just slow as shit, battery life crap etc. Decided to do a whole factory reset and then get the latest software. On top of that I bought the Memory Booster App which really helped matters, and now it’s super fast again.
To take advantage of the new found speed, first thing I did was get a new theme for the Blackberry to spice it up again. So my home screen has went from:
to:
If you’re thinking “Hey, that looks similar to an iphone layout” then it won’t surprise you to find out the name of the theme: Miphone 3G. I really like that layout though, as it’s a lot better having that many icons on the screen as it saves me from having to go a menu deep the majority of the time.
Along with that I installed a bunch of new apps, including the WordPress for Blackberry App, hence the whole reason for the title of this blog. It’s not the greatest app in the world but it works well enough, and will allow me to blog with ease. I’ve never really been a fan of Twitter(I’m sure that surprises um – zero of you) so it’ll be good to have the ability to mobile blog.
Other than that what is going on? Well I’ve been very busy. May is going to be a write-off for me when it comes to work. I’m off to Edmonton for a few days in May. Also in the first two weeks of May my mom is visiting, then the second two weeks my sister is visiting. Add in a trip to Montreal for UFC, my daughters birthday(we’re having a fucking PETTING ZOO) and not much work is going to be done in May.
So I’ve been working like CRAZY the past couple of weeks, just so I can take the majority of May off and not have to worry about anything, hence the real lack of blog posts. I haven’t even played video games in a long long time – I still have Bioshock 2 sitting gathering dust for example. I haven’t even watched much TV other than sports. I’ve watched up to and including episode 512 of Lost, and I plan on wrapping up season 5 then watching season 6 during my flight to and fro Edmonton.
I started watching My Name Is Earl as my background show while I work, but meh. It’s an okay show, but nothing special at all. A couple of funny moments in it but not something I’d recommend to others. I’m way behind on actual TV too – I’m only 4 episodes into the Celebrity Apprentice for example, and haven’t watched shows like HIMYM, Big Bang Theory or The Office for weeks.
That’s the problem come playoff time – it’s on every night, and it’s tough to watch anything else. Not that I am complaining – love NBA & NHL and wasting my nights watching it is great.
That’s pretty much it for me. Back to work!
Lets talk Wrestling
My good friend Vin wrote a blog post Let’s talk some more wrestling. I hate wrestling these days, I really do. It’s boring as all hell, and there is never anything interesting happening. Discounting Wrestlemania which I order every year on principle, I’d say I have watched less than 10 hours of total wrestling in the last 8 years, which is rather scary considering how it was my religion for awhile.
I do still enjoy talking about wrestling, even if I don’t keep up on it. The days of the new Observer and Figure Four newsletters used to be a huge day for me. I’d get them, print them off, then go take a long lunch at a local restaurant downtown called the Golden Rooster. I’d order two of their famous sandwiches, a ginger ale, then sit back and read both newsletters from front to back.
Now I don’t even read the newsletters for the most part. Sometimes I skim them but that’s about it. However I do still enjoy talking about wrestling. Vin wrote his big article which I highly recommend you read and in it he posed himself some questions. I’ll answer the very same questions.
What is your favourite show of all time?
Wrestlemania 7. Period. This was the first wrestling show I was ever exposed to, and it was amazing. I still have fond memories of it. Plus it had possibly the greatest match in the history of wrestling in Ultimate Warrior vs Randy Savage.
Who is your favourite wrestler of all time?
There’s a lot of wrestlers I like for a variety of different reasons. Tazz for his gimmick in ECW, Santino for his comedy, Cena because – well he is awesome. I’d say my favourite wrestler of all time is Kurt Angle. He hit the ground running when he started, and he covered all the bases. He was funny. He was great on promos. He was involved in great storylines. He was an amazing wrestler that made it seem real. He was a joy to watch. Yep, I’d say Angle is without a doubt my favourite wrestler of all time.
What is your favourite match of all time?
HBK vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania LAST year is up there, just due to the emotion. As is Mankind vs Undertaker Hell in a Cell, again due to the emotion. To me that is what a great wrestling match is – one that makes you react. One that makes you sit there and cheer like crazy. One where you are interested in the match from the BEGINNING, not just near the end when they start pulling out finisher after finisher, and a variety of close pins.
So yeah, I’d say the two I just mentioned, HBK vs Flair, and of course Warrior vs Savage.
I think Vin is doing a follow up post soon. in the meantime go read his original post.
Yikes
Has it really been that long since I updated? Doesn’t feel like it. I’ve just been so busy on Casino Answers that I haven’t had the chance to write anything. I’ve also been ill the last 10 days with a 2 week virus, and still feel pretty crappy today wheee.
Not much to write here because as mentioned – still sick. I’ll write more later this week. Hoping I can get a little bit better today so I can enjoy Wrestlemania tonight. Just wanted to put in a little plug for this article: Can I Bet on Wrestlemania 26?.
What a Headache
So back in November, I started work on a new casino project. It was going to be a very simple question and answer site offering online casino information. I launched this at the end of January, with the URL CasinoQuestions.org.
However, after a week I decided this just wasn’t going to work. It’s all about positivity – people don’t want questions, they want answers! ANSWERS!
So I went out and picked up the domain CasinoAnswers.org, and went about building that, forwarding everything to it etc.
Well, one thing that never left my head was the possibility of getting CasinoAnswers.com. I was quoted $3k for it which to be honest I didn’t want to pay – the idea of $3k for a domain name repulses me. However as I worked more and more on the website over the last few days, I realized that this website was fast becoming one of my best websites, and all the work involved in it, everything I have planned for it – yeah, I have no doubt this is going to be a huge brand name within a year.
So i sucked it up. $3k down the drain, and I now introduce to you: Casino Answers.com
Enjoy!
