Off to Detroit

Posted by Scotsman on September 3, 2010 in Life |

Off to Detroit this weekend which should be fun.  Going to be doing a photoblog for NPP too so you’ll be able to see in gory detail as I get shot by a band of juggalos.

Just busy getting my Blackberry set up with movies.  I don’t think I will be adding any Lord of the Rings movies, even though there’s a great Lord of the Rings Slot Machine out.

Sorry cheap plug – but it really is cool as I played it earlier.

Anyway yes, off I go!

Bought a PS3

Posted by Scotsman on August 30, 2010 in Multimedia |

Over the last 18 months I’ve been debating buying a PS3 primarily as a Blu-Ray player.  Once I got into Lost and watched all of that, I decided to get the PS3 so I could watch Lost in HD when the complete collection came out(because other than the final episode I watched them all on my computer or on my Blackberry or on my Ipod Touch).

I’ve spent like 3 months waiting for a PS3 deal so I could buy one – with so many deals these days I basically refuse to buy anything at retail.  Even if the deal was “$10 off if you come in wearing a wrestling shirt” I’d do it – just something in my mentality where I can only purchase something via a deal.

Then I was going through some stuff and cleaning out my reciepts file, when I discovered an old EB Games card from when I traded games in a few years ago.  I checked online to find that there was $90 on it!  So I then decided to take in a bunch of my other games to trade in and put that towards the price of the PS3.

These were the games I traded in and the prices:

Far Cry Instincts: $4.25
Trauma Center(Wii): $7.00
Assassins Creed: $4.00
Civilization Revolution: $12.50
Call of Duty 3: $3.75
Lost: $4.50
Call of Duty 2: $5.75
Saints Row 2: $6.25
Gears of War 2: $7.50
Trivial Pursuit: $2.75
Project Gotham Racing 4: $1.25
Smackdown vs RAW 07: $0.70
Gears of War: $6.00
The Godfather: $5.25

Total was $73.45.  So I ended up putting that and the previous card together and getting a PS3 for about $140.  Sweet deal.  Now to start building up my Blu-Ray collection.  So far all I have is Lost, the Bourne Collection and Taken.

Here’s a picture of the XBox and PS3 on at the same time:

Great Job City of Kingston

Posted by Scotsman on August 5, 2010 in Life |

My neighbour has a tree in her front yard which has already seen part of it collapse onto the road a few years ago.

The city of Kingston came out a few weeks ago to check the tree out, and thankfully declared it “safe”.  Yep, that tree will still be standing 50 years from now.

Oh…..wait:

032

Yeah….see that white house where the rest of the tree looks like it’s about to collapse on?  That’s mine.  But it’s okay because it’s “safe”.  Sure the slightest breeze sees it shaking and making weird creaking noises, but if you can’t trust the City of Kingston who can you trust?

Hell Yes

Posted by Scotsman on July 30, 2010 in Life |

I love days like today.

I had a work day planned today.  Changing the URLS of all my pages on Casino Answers.  So like casinoanswers.com/titan-casino-review/ would become casinoanswers.com/casino-reviews/titan-casino.php or whatever.  With over 600 articles on the site I have been stressing the day I decide to tackle this, as so much could go wrong.

I planned out 48 hours for this job – seriously I figured it was going to be a two day thing.

It was sorted within 48 freaking minutes.

A few plugin installs, a few hacks and boom – it was all done.  There’ll be tweaking and work to do but nothing urgent – I can chill out and relax and do it at my leisure now.

As if that wasn’t enough, I decided prior to the stress ball that I would relax and order Boston Pizza and treat myself.  After dining on mainly fruit & veg for a month I figured that would get me in the right state of mind.  Well I called and an old friend works there now and he is able to hook me up with the Clubhouse Pizza – a special pizza that was my favourite and they took off the menu 2 years ago.

Yep, it’s going to be a great weekend.

Semi-Retirement

Posted by Scotsman on July 29, 2010 in Gambling Affiliate Shit, Life |

I hope everyone enjoyed the sappiness of the last blog update.  I really only wrote it for one person – and no, not Janise.  It was my buddy Frank, and sure enough I got the reaction I was hoping for a few hours after I wrote it when he sent me a message stating “omg you are such a faggot”.  It was worth being a faggot just so I could picture his face reading that crap.

We’ve been busy and out a lot this Summer.  It’s been really nice because my whole “working as little as possible” thing is going really well.  To me it’s really the little things that I appreciate the most.  Back when I was in workaholic mode and working non-stop, I found I couldn’t enjoy a lot of things like going downtown with my family, because I kept thinking “I gotta go back and work!”.  So it’s stuff like taking my kids out on the morning dog walk and just walking around for an hour or until they’re bored, with no care about when I get back home.  Or being asked “Want to go to the beach today?” at about 10am and saying “Yeah sure” and 20 minutes later we’re off.

The main difference is that I don’t have work that I HAVE to do – I just have work that I WANT to do.  So I’m not waking up in the morning thinking “Okay I have to do this today”.  I can wake up and say “Hey I feel like writing articles today” or “I feel like relaxing today and reading books”.  It’s rather nice.

Not much else going on – been reading some Vince Flynn and he is awesome.  Just racing through his books.  More just wanted to get that gay ass post of mine off the top.
