XBox Update: January 17th, 2019

Posted by Scotsman on January 17, 2019 in XBox |

Holy crap.

How the hell has it been 2 and a half months since my last update on here about XBox? I swear it feels like maybe 4-6 weeks.

That’s pretty bad ha.

So anyway last time I just wrapped up Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I decided to start Red Dead Redemption 2 next but after devoting 2-3 hours to that and barely scratching the surface I realized that yeah – this isn’t the game for me at this time.

With how little I am playing Xbox currently there’s no way I can invest time into a game like that just yet. Same reason I am not playing The Witcher 3 or anything like that.

I also launched a new website – BetSoccer.ca: daily soccer betting tips – which has taken up a lot of my time. I launched it prior to the World Cup and it’s been tough keeping it going. So that’s cut into my video gaming quite a bit too.

I ended up going with Dead Rising 3. This was the perfect game. A lot of fun. A lot of action. Able to quit when I wanted. So I could play it for two hours or play it for 30 minutes and it was a nice short game. Beat that with 32/52 achievements, 545/1000 gamerscore. Onto the “to wrap up” list it goes as I’ll go back and grind away at it sometime.

I had a lot of fun with it but with games like that I’ve gotten tired of going back just to grind for achievements. Much prefer just doing a second playthrough down the road when it is more fresh.

I next started up Brave, the Disney Pixar game. I’ve always wanted to play that since it was Games with Gold. I just love those easy but fun platformers more aimed at kids and this was a great one. Had a lot of fun with it. 32/44 achievements, 615/1000 gamerscore. I MIGHT go back and grind a few achievements but it’s on the “to wrap up” list for now.

I also played a bit of It’s Quiz Time with the family. Decent enough I guess.

That’s it so far. I’m not sure what game I am going to start next. My backlog is ridiculously gross so I’ll have to see. I keep floating between XCom2 and well anything else. We shall see.

Stats updates since last time:

XBox Games to Wrap Up: 159 (+2)
New XBox 360 Games: 95 (+0)
New XBLA Games: 71 (-1)
New XBox One Games: 182 (+2)
Sports/Racing: 47 (+2)
Kinect Games: 25 (+0)

Gamerscore: 273,788 (+1540)
Achievements: 11,593 (+89)
True Achievement Score: 434,564 (+2390)
100% Games: 113.
TA Percentage: 58.24%. (-0.22%)

Will try and get back in the habit of adding a new blog every time I beat a game!

Xbox Update: October 29th, 2018

Posted by Scotsman on October 29, 2018 in XBox |

Oh hey I might be using this blog again.

NPP is pretty much dead and I’ve been motivated to get into XBox lately and just finished up a game and felt the urge to write about it. So figured hey maybe I can start writing here on my blog.

Who knows maybe along with XBox updates I’ll start writing about other things too. Not sure anyone is even reading this but if you know me you know my XBox playing time has been extremely poor going back the last 3-4 years. I might beat something like 4 games a year. It’s brutal.

Would love to change that and I spent the last 4 weeks and 5 days going through Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Now I only logged about 25 hours on it so that’s still pretty poor play time but hey it’s something.

I mean prior to that last time I played a game through to completion was MAY and it was a short one – Never Alone.

So we’ll see how it goes. I’ll try and post an update at least once a week. Read more…

Started Another Book Site

Well obviously I don’t really write here anymore. I mean the last update was June 2014 when I talked about Football Manager.

It’s funny actually as I don’t really play Football Manager anymore, however I come here to update WordPress and the plugins once per month(for security) and I end up looking at that post and it gets me right motivated to actually get a football manager game going.

Work wise I’ve been so busy I just don’t want to dedicate the time to Football Manager. I mean I’ve tried – holy crap have I tried – over the last little while, but I always lose interest.

FM Blog #2: Arsey Arsenal

Posted by Scotsman on June 7, 2014 in Football Manager |

I must confess – I completely forgot I was writing here about Football Manager.

Just got so busy working on my World Cup Tips website that when it came to writing – that was all I was focused on. Yet while writing articles on exciting clashes like Japan vs Ivory Coast, I was also hammering away at Football Manager.

Let me give some quick updates:

Season 2: I ended up doing quite a few signings. I snagged youngsters for the future in Ryan Gauld and Tom Ince. I spent 34 million pounds on Joao Moutinho, and picked up Frank Lampard and Joleon Lescott for free. I also spent 375k on Micah Richards and 925k on Mikel Arteta.

I ended up winning the league, losing the semi-finals of the Champions League to Munich, and winning the League Cup. Not bad at all.

The story of the season though was Arsenal. They got relegated to the Championship, then got relegated AGAIN.

Here it is.

So of course, I had to take over Arsenal.

I’ll have more updated on that later – I’ve spent 134m and got 3 different squads. It’s quite amazing.

Right now I have to go back to writing more bloody match previews for WorldCupBettingTips.org.

FM Blog #1: Guess Who’s Back – Back Again

Posted by Scotsman on May 24, 2014 in Football Manager |

Been awhile since I did this – got back into a Football Manager 2014 game.

Long story short: simulated till December making sure Man Utd were shite. 18th position and Moyes got sacked mid-December. I took over. I steered them away from relegation and got us into 4th in the league, for Champions League Qualification. I also won us the Europa League, and got us to the FA Cup Final. We lost just 3 games all season. 1-0 away to Chelsea in the league, 3-0 away to Liverpool in the league, and 2-0 away to Chelsea in the FA Cup Final.

It was an amazing season as we won every game apart from that(except a 2-2 draw against Palace away). I generally stuck with a 4-3-3 although modified it a bit. Read more…
