Online Sweepstakes

It seems every few months I get this “bug”, where I just want to start participating in online sweepstakes.

So what will happen is this – I add an entry to RoboForm for “Sweeps”, which has a private e-mail address just to deal with all that spam.  I go visit the 5 or 6 Canadian sites I have bookmarked for sweepstakes.  Those include RedFlagDeals and Online-Sweepstakes.  And then I start entering the sweeps on a daily basis.  When I first started it – I entered everything and anything.  Eventually I realized that wasn’t the way to go, so recently when I got back into it I would be more selective in what I enter.

I really have no reason for entering these sweepstakes, other than I enjoy winning shit.  I’ve won a few things over the years – a car, trips, scotch tape(YES, SCOTCH FUCKING TAPE) and it is always a lot of fun.  Although once I accidently gave my mailing address to a tourist place, and 3 weeks later I went to the PO Box to find flyers, pamphlets, brochures and DVDs from pretty much every city in the United States of America.  Seriously – they brought it all out for me in two huge boxes, it was quite hilarious.

What ultimately happens though is I start off well – I enter the sweepstakes, I have a bookmark folder for ones that allow daily entries etc. – then I stop.  I’ll miss it one day, and just never ever do it again for months.  The last time I did this was about 7 months ago.  Before that – about a year ago.

Why am I writing about this?  I don’t know really – I just thought “Hey I should write about sweepstakes for my blog”.  I’m feeling the itch again.
