FM Blog #9: Done
11 Reasons as to why I am now done with FM for the foreseeable future:

I enjoy FM. In the past few in-game months I’ve been battling with the tactics and match engine – but I enjoy that. It’s worth so much effort and so on for when you get it right. The feeling of elation when you dominate a game with more than 20 shots on the opposition yet it’s 0-0 then you get a jammy corner goal in the 89th minute as I did against Sunderland? Amazing.
But that match against Chelsea ruined it for me. In an even enough game they had just 17 shots and 5 clear cut chances – yet scored 11 of them.
I’d be fine with getting hammered. 4-0 sure – it happens. We hadn’t beaten a big team yet in the league, so the challenge of it was quite fun and even if I got beat in the game – it’d push me on to do it better next time.
But not 11-0. That’s just fucking retarded.
Not sure what I will do. I hear there’s a big match engine update coming in March. I’ll keep updated on that and then read the reaction when it hits. Then we’ll see what I will do there.
It’s a shame because I love FM, and the last few weeks I’ve had some personal stuff going on and FM has really kept me distracted. But right now I just don’t see the point of playing it anymore.
