Productivity?

I’m beginning to think I don’t even know the meaning of the word.

When I last wrote, the to do list count was at 55.  It’s now at 75, meaning it has grown with 20 items in 24 hours.  And it’s not like I wasn’t busy today – it was just that I was very busy communicating today.  Mostly with new affiliates who are signed up under me as a sub-affiliate; this is something that is VERY important to me because theoretically it means in a few years if that goes well, I can get out of this business, spend the rest of my life relaxing and let the sub-affiliates do the work.  Long story short, they sign up under my tracker.  They are now an affiliate for a poker room, however if their players generate $10,000 rake in a month for example, I’ll get a percentage of that(usually 20%).  So my eventual aim is to rely purely on that, and make life a hell of a lot easier.  It’s also something I really enjoy, working with affiliates and giving them suggestions, helping out etc.

So yeah – communicating.  Over forum PMs, e-mail, skype, MSN, telephone – you name it, I used it today.  Spent a lot of time doing that in the morning, took a break to play Saints Row 2, then went right back at it.

I have a sad story however.  As I mentioned earlier I got into How I Met Your Mother a few days ago.  Well, seasons 1 and 2 are on sale on Amazon.ca so I was about to buy them, when Risto told me they were that price at Costco.  So fuck Amazon, I can go to Costco and get them NOW, rather than wait a few days for shipping.  So off I went today….and they weren’t even in stock.  Fuck!  So I went all around Kingston looking for them, but everywhere had them for $30 and up, so I was unable to relax tonight and watch that.

I did buy a few DVDs though.  As I mentioned recently, I just started getting into the whole DVD purchasing business, after relying on rentals and downloads for years.  It is quite fun building up a collection I must admit, although I am very nitty about prices(being Scottish and all) so I carefully shop around etc.  Tonight I returned home with Wedding Crashers, Anchorman, Dumb and Dumber, Never Been Kissed, Borat Special Edition(free t-shirt!) and The Professional.  Every one of these cost just $5 except for Borat which was $10.

But the fun doesn’t end there!  I then went on Amazon to purchase How I met Your Mother, and ended up with a whole big order heading my way.  I of course got HIMYM seasons 1 & 2 for $19.99 each – I’ll shop around for season 3 by the time I am ready to watch it.  I picked up Hot Shots 1 & 2 double feature for just $10, Beer League for $9, Dirty Work for $10 and Elf for just $4.99.  The biggest steals though, were Blackadder the Complete Collection for just $55 CDN, this is currently $100 on Amazon.com, and Fawlty Towers Complete Collection – $31 for that, when it is $45 and up elsewhere.  Oh and also a triple pack of Airplane – Hello Shirley Edition, Top Secret and Naked Gun for $23, which is a decent enough price.

Finally, I bought Super Smash Bros for the Wii for $29.99, as I think I am going to cave in to my wifes demands and buy her a Wii for Christmas.  So yes, a fun little shopping expedition and I didn’t even have to get off my fat arse, god bless the internet.
