FM Blog Update #2: First Game

I’m not going to do the crazy updates Taffmaster does, but I did want to do a quick update after my first game.

I made a brief change to the formations. Formation #2, the 1 striker formation, I switched to have 1 DMC instead of 2 CMs.

We played shite teams in friendlies. The results:

2-2-2-2-2: 1-0, 8-0.
2-3-1-3-1: 7-0, 8-0.
4-6-0: 4-0, 10-0.

After that 10-0 victory, the 4-6-0 was also the one the team were most comfortable with. We had an away game against Derby so I decided to go with that.

Remember Suarez is out – 6 game ban sadly. So we went with:

As you can probably see from that screenshot – we won 3-0 away. Yay. Everything went as I hoped with lots of passing – most players had 60-70 passes. Agger won man of the match with 2 goals from corners, and Moses got our 3rd goal. We had 15 shots on goal with 11 on target.

That was really the key for me based on the friendlies. The other formations we had like 40 shots, and 12 on target. But with the 4-6-0 in the 10-0 game we had 15 shots with 13 on target. So working it about like that was really good.

Anyway first victory a win – always nice.
