TV Shows & Alcatraz
In December I really didn’t watch too much in regard to TV Shows/Movies. Frasier was the only show I was going through, and when I got to Season 4 I started to really remember all the episodes too well, so stopped.
I decided to try and start burning through movies. I’ve got a wide collection from burnt discs to downloaded movies to Netflix and I wanted to start forcing myself through them. Sometimes I find it hard to watch movies as it can be hard to “commit” a whole 2 hours to a movie – even if I’m doing work at the same time.
I watched a few, and most were pretty crap. The one that really stood out was Moneyball, which was fantastic.
I finally decided to give another TV show a try. Since The Sopranos, The Shield and Lost – I’ve found it really hard to get into a new TV show as those are top quality shows and it’s hard to compare. I’ve debated watching a lot of shows, but I finally sat down to watch Breaking Bad.
Holy shit, what a show. I’m loving it and it’s a show everyone should watch. Just the right mix of intensity and comedy.
I’m also going to break my rule – and watch the new Alcatraz TV Show which premieres Monday. I usually don’t watch new TV shows – I wait until they’re finished so that I know I can get emotionally involved in them. There’s nothing worse than getting hooked on a TV show only for it to be canceled. I’ve been lucky in that regard as I rarely watch any TV shows new, but I can remember the hell Janise went through with Flash Forward.
However I’m breaking the rule for Alcatraz. It just seems like a solid show, and should be a lot of fun to watch. You can tell JJ Abrams is really psyched about it. Can’t wait.
